What This Video Covers
This tutorial shows how to track budgets and manage project costs directly from the Matidor mobile app. It covers how to navigate the Budgets section inside a project, filter budgets by status, year, and cost range, read your project-wide budget summary, add new costs to active budgets, open individual budget detail views, and create or delete budgets on the go. By the end, you will know how to stay on top of project financials from anywhere in the field.
Who This Is For
This video is for project managers, site supervisors, and field leads who need real-time visibility into project budgets without being tied to a desktop. It is also relevant for finance leads, environmental consultants, oil and gas project coordinators, and construction managers who are responsible for tracking spending against approved budgets while work is actively happening in the field. If your team needs a faster way to review costs, log new expenses, and monitor remaining budget from a mobile device, this walkthrough shows exactly how to do that in Matidor.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Open the Matidor mobile app and navigate into one of your existing projects. Once inside, you will see the Budgets section with your project's total remaining budget displayed front and center. This gives you an at-a-glance financial status without needing to dig through menus. Tap the Budgets section to open a more detailed view showing all budgets in the project, automatically sorted to display active budgets first.
At the top of the budget list, use the filter options to narrow results by status: Active, Pending, or Closed, as well as by year or cost range. This makes it easy to find specific budgets on projects with multiple active funding sources or cost centers. Just below the filters, your project-wide budget summary shows Total Budget, Accumulated Costs, and Remaining Budget, all automatically calculated from the budgets in your project.
Scroll down to the All Costs area to see total project costs in one view. Tap here to enter the full cost management section, where you can filter entries, add new costs, edit existing ones, delete records, and review comments tied to each cost entry, all the same capabilities available on desktop. Within individual budget cards, each one displays its own remaining balance. For any active budget, tap the plus icon to quickly add a new cost directly to that budget without navigating away.
To see full budget details, tap into any individual budget card. This opens a detailed view with linked cost codes, budget fields, and associated comments all in one place. From the main Budgets screen, you can also create new budgets, including integrated budgets if that connection is enabled in your workspace and delete budgets that are no longer needed.
Key Takeaways
