This feature is ideal for field teams, inspectors, and project managers who need to capture a path, route, or boundary by physically moving through the site.
In this video, you will learn how to:
✅ Enable location and select Move and Draw from the drawing tool
✅ Automatically generate a drawing line using GPS as you move
✅ Continue tracking movement while in Offline Mode
✅ Save the drawing when tracking is stopped or completed
✅ Edit the drawing's style, label, and tags like any other drawing
✅ Choose Stay, Discard and Leave, or Finish and Leave when exiting

What This Video Covers
Learn how to use Move and Draw in Matidor Go, the mobile companion app for Matidor. This tutorial walks through enabling the feature from the drawing tool, tracking movement automatically with GPS, using it in Offline Mode, saving the completed drawing, editing its style and labels, and understanding the exit options if you try to leave the project while tracking is still active.
Who This Is For
This video is for field inspectors, surveyors, project managers, and field teams who need to capture a physical path, route, or boundary by walking or moving through a site. It is especially useful for construction, environmental, and utilities teams documenting real-world movement as project data.
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
Open a project in Matidor Go and tap the drawing tool on the right side of the map. Make sure location is enabled, then select Move and Draw to get started. With Move and Draw enabled, Matidor uses your device's GPS to automatically create a drawing line based on your movement. Just move around as you normally would, and the line follows your path.
Move and Draw also supports offline tracking, so even when you are working in Offline Mode without a connection, you can continue tracking your movement and capturing the drawing. When you are finished, the drawing line is saved to the project once tracking is stopped or the drawing is completed. Because it becomes a regular drawing, you can open the edit panel to customize its style, add a label, or apply tags, just like any other drawing in Matidor.
One important thing to remember: if you try to leave the project while Move and Draw is still active, Matidor will prompt you to choose Stay to keep drawing, Discard and Leave to remove the current drawing, or Finish and Leave to complete the drawing first and then exit.
Key Takeaways
Move and Draw turns physical movement in the field into usable project drawings without any manual sketching. Whether you are mapping a route, tracing a boundary, or documenting a path during an inspection, GPS tracking captures it automatically, even without a connection. Clear exit prompts ensure you never lose an in-progress drawing by accident. Start using Move and Draw in Matidor Go today.
