Matidor closed a USD $1.85 million seed round, with lead investors including New York's Space Capital, Houston's Cathexis Ventures, and additional investors from Boston. The funding marks a pivotal moment for the Vancouver-based company, which had just been named British Columbia's Startup of the Year at the time of the announcement.

The round is designed to accelerate the growth of Matidor's map-based project management platform, which helps consultants, engineers, and energy operators manage field projects, budgets, and geospatial data from a single intuitive interface. The company was founded by Vincent Lam, a former technical lead at Google Earth, and Sean Huang, giving the platform deep roots in geospatial technology.

The investment signals growing confidence in GIS-native software as a category, particularly for industries like oil and gas, environmental services, and renewables, where field operations have historically been managed through spreadsheets and disconnected tools.
