Managing energy efficiency across an entire city requires the ability to model multiple planning scenarios simultaneously and measure their environmental impact before breaking ground. Matidor and global built environment consultancy Arup announced a partnership to build exactly that: a set of co-created products that help civil engineers plan, track, and optimize urban energy systems in real time.
The partnership combines Matidor's map-based project management capabilities with Arup's deep expertise in digital sustainability and energy efficiency planning. Together, the two organizations are developing tools that allow engineers to run multiple urban planning models, calculate energy efficiency outcomes, and select the best-performing scenario to reduce environmental impact.
The announcement signals a significant expansion of Matidor's platform beyond oil and gas and environmental services. Cities including Springfield, Massachusetts and Austin, Texas were already using Matidor for civil engineering and parks applications at the time of the announcement, and the integration with Arup's sustainability expertise is intended to extend that reach to energy transition projects globally.
